HeliFlite Receives Second HAI Safety Award
Fort Worth (March 31, 2004) HeliFlite
Shares has earned its second HAI Platinum Program of Safety
award, having demonstrated its compliance with the program’s
rigorous standards. In 2002 HeliFlite was the first helicopter
operator to win the award.
“HeliFlite is a premium service and so we are somewhat
obsessive about setting the highest standards for ourselves--both
in the way we operate and the way we serve our customers,”
said Cary Brown, company president.
To win the award, a company must meet HAI’s recommended
practices in the areas of management, operations, systems
and safety programs. The company must develop and adhere
to an operations manual; develop a comprehensive training
program; and conduct an annual safety audit.
All HeliFlite helicopters fly with a crew of two and all
pilots train at FlightSafety International. Experience level
is high, with captains averaging more than 7,400 flight
hours.
HeliFlite launched the helicopter fractional ownership
concept in 1998. Today it serves the mid-Atlantic and New
England from a base at Newark Airport. Its fleet includes
Bell 430 helicopters in fractional service and a recently
acquired Sikorsky S-76B for charter.
